Star Wars: Episode IX Might Reveal How Snoke Will Return In The Comics

Some people are still not over Supreme Leader Snoke's unexpected death in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Not surprisingly, there are speculations that Star Wars: Episode IX will feature a bit of Snoke's backstory in preparation for a possible comic book appearance.

In The Last Jedi, Snoke was killed when Kylo Ren activated the lightsaber on his side. Although it seemed pretty clear that the Supreme Leader was properly murdered (he was, after all, cut in half), a new report suggests that Andy Serkis' character will be back in Episode IX (via Express).

"There are huge secrets to do with the character that is all to do with his obsidian ring," the report claims. It suggests that Snoke may have "the ability to be immortal just by wearing the ring."

It's a ridiculous claim but it also has people hoping that the villain will return in Episode IX. After all, the film doesn't have a clear baddie since Snoke's death. Nevertheless, we will suggest taking more than a grain of salt with this one.

There are speculations that Snoke's backstory will be explored in his own comic book in the Age of Resistance line. However, the villain has not yet been announced to be one of the featured characters so you'll need to take this with a grain of salt as well.

Star Wars: Age of Resistance is slated to begin in July 2019. The still-untitled Star Wars: Episode IX is currently scheduled for release on December 20, 2019.
