Star Wars: Episode IX Might Explore What Happened If Darth Vader Wasn't Redeemed

It has already been confirmed that Star Wars: Episode IX will be the conclusion of the Skywalker Saga. But how exactly will it all end? A new theory suggests that the upcoming Star Wars film will explore what could have happened if Darth Vader wasn't redeemed in Return of the Jedi. Unfortunately, this could mean Kylo Ren will end up being the worst villain in the Star Wars Universe.

According to ScreenRant, the clues to Kylo Ren's fate were already laid out in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Just like Darth Vader, people could still sense the Light in the former Ben Solo. However, Kylo ultimately tried to persuade Rey to join him in ruling over the galaxy. He then set off to try and destroy Luke Skywalker, the one man who could control and defeat him.

So is it possible that Episode IX will see Kylo Ren becoming a worse villain than Darth Vader? It's certainly a dark way to end the Skywalker Saga. After all, most people agree that the only way that the saga could end is if all Skywalkers are dead. Although there is still a possibility that Kylo will be redeemed, it would make more sense for him to die being the bad guy.

The theory is certainly a plausible one and the dark conclusion of the Skywalker Saga could give way to a new generation of heroes who will take over. However, it's still just based on speculations so we recommend taking this with a grain of salt.

Star Wars: Episode IX is scheduled for release on December 20.
