Star Wars: Episode IX Leak Teases Original Trilogy Character Playing Important Role

People are already expecting Star Wars: Episode IX to focus on the ongoing conflict between Rey and Kylo Ren. However, a new leak may have confirmed that an oft-forgotten character from the original trilogy will play an important role in the film as well.

Oscar Isaac may have revealed some interesting details about what will happen in Episode IX on his recent appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. The Star Wars: The Last Jedi actor admitted that he was somehow upstaged by Anthony Daniels on their last day of shooting. Isaac shared that the C-3PO actor was emotional on that fateful day.

"I think, and I mean it, he kept saying this was the most fun he's had. He had so many fun things to do," Isaac said. "We got to work a lot together and it was amazing to see that piece of history up close."

It's certainly an interesting statement considering that Threepio had been in the background for most of Star Wars: The Force Awakens as well as The Last Jedi. There are speculations that C-3PO and R2-D2 might actually join the action in Episode IX.

There's a good reason why Daniels was so emotional during the wrap. After all, he has played Threepio since A New Hope and even showed up Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Episode IX is set to be the final installment of the Skywalker Saga which means that the two droids might finally retire after this movie.

Star Wars: Episode IX is scheduled for release on December 20.
