We already know that General Leia Organa can use the Force after seeing her fly through space in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. However, a new leak teases on Carrie Fisher's character actually wielding a lightsaber in Star Wars: Episode IX.

Leia's Force sensitivity has been teased in The Empire Strikes Back when Luke Skywalker connected with his twin so she could save him. However, it was not further explored in the Star Wars films until The Last Jedi. Interestingly, this will reportedly change in Episode IX as Leia is set to hold an important lightsaber in one of the film's pivotal scenes (via Express).

The leak reveals that Leia will find herself in what appears to be a planet in the Outer Rim with some surprising company. "Leia is dressed in a black outfit almost like a robe. Leia is with Maz Kanata, C-3PO and R2-D2, holding the Skywalker lightsaber and examining it," the report states. "She begins to hold it in a Jedi-like stance and activates it, pointing it towards a city that looks like it has gone through battle."

It's an interesting idea considering that people have been hoping for Leia to eventually become a Jedi like her brother. However, we're still unsure if J.J. Abrams actually filmed Fisher in action before her untimely death. We would recommend taking this with a grain of salt.

Fisher is set to return in Episode IX. It has already been revealed that the sequel will feature unused footage of the late actress. The next Star Wars film is scheduled for release on December 20, 2019.
