Star Wars Director JJ Abrams Thinks Fans Will Love The Rise Of Skywalker's Sith Troopers

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker might be skipping SDCC this year but that doesn't mean that the film won't have some sort of presence at the event. The new villains of Episode IX will be showing up at Lucasfilm's stormtrooper exhibit and director J.J. Abrams believes that fans will truly love the Sith Troopers.

The Sith Trooper will be joining all the different types of Stormtroopers that have been featured on Star Wars at the Lucasfilm exhibit. Not much is known about the new troopers but Abrams is already looking forward to how fans will react to the First Order soldiers in The Rise of Skywalker.

"The materials, the color, the lines, there was something about the aesthetic of it that just felt absolutely right. I cannot wait for people to see the work that everyone's done," Abrams says in the behind-the-scenes video on how the Sith Troopers were created (via StarWars.com). The video has not yet been released but is expected to drop online during SDCC.

So what exactly makes the Sith Trooper so special? Fans will immediately be drawn to these armored soldiers because of their red and black armor. In addition to that, their helmet seems to resemble that of the Clone Troopers. Is this a hint at the Sith Trooper being clones as well?

Fans who are attending SDCC are set to learn more about the Sith Troopers pretty soon. The new troopers will also become a huge part of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which premieres on December 20.
