We finally know the title of Jon Favreau's Star Wars TV series as well as its talented list of directors. Interestingly, former Star Wars director Colin Trevorrow has something to say about Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom star Bryce Dallas Howard being chosen to helm one of The Mandalorian's episodes.
Trevorrow was initially confirmed to direct Star Wars: Episode IX before being replaced by The Force Awakens' J.J. Abrams. However, the Jurassic World director was still thrilled when Howard was confirmed as one of the talented filmmakers that would work on The Mandalorian. Check out his tweet below.
Trevorrow wrote, "Bryce Dallas Howard is directing a Star Wars and we are all lucky. Thank you for coming to my TED talk." Needless to say, he isn't the only one who is excited about the news. Fans have been gushing about the new series since the news dropped yesterday.
It's cool to see that Trevorrow is proud of Howard, who previously worked with on Jurassic World. Howard has already proven her talent in short films like Orchids and When You Find Me so we're looking forward to her episode next year.
The premiere episode of The Mandalorian will be directed by Star Wars: The Clone Wars executive producer Dave Filoni. Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok) will also helm some of the episodes.
The synopsis for The Mandalorian reads as follows:
"After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic."
The Mandalorian has already begun production and is expected to air on the Disney streaming service in 2019.
