Star Wars Battlefront II Will Finally Add Droidekas Later In June

There was a time when fans could only dream about seeing droidekas rolling into action in Star Wars Battlefront II. Luckily, DICE is finally making that dream a reality.

DICE has just announced that droidekas will finally be introduced in Battlefront II. This should finally answer all those "Where are those Droidekas?" questions.

"If there is one reinforcement that we know is high on our community's wish list, it's the Droideka. Of course, we have a bit of history with these and while we won't focus on the past, let's just say that your passion and enthusiasm for these Rollies was not missed," the update reads.

The droideka will have twin blaster cannons as its primary weapon as well as three different abilities: the wheel form where it "folds its cannons and legs into its chassis and becomes able to traverse the battlefront at breakneck speeds," overload where its primary blasters get overloaded, and the energy shield which "acts as a secondary health pool."

These fearsome droids were first seen in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace proving to be a tough opponent for Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Since then, the droidekas have been something fans were hoping that would appear in Battlefront II. Although DICE initially denied adding the droids last year, they have clearly changed their minds.

The droidekas are expected to roll out as part of the Clone Wars content on Star Wars Battlefront II starting June 26.
