Sadly, fans who disliked the character decided to take it out on actress Kelly Marie Tran, who chose to quit social media due to online bullying. Now the Raya and the Last Dragon star has addressed the issue and shared her thoughts on what it was like to be the subject of the backlash.

Tran recently spoke to ET Online where she spoke up about her decision to leave social media.

"I mean, I think that, you know, it's a different decision for everyone," Tran said. "And I think that people should do what they think is right for them."

Interestingly, Tran continued by admitting she had no regrets about quitting social media.

"I also think that ... it was the best thing I ever did. I don't know. It's funny, it feels like people are still shocked by it sometimes. I'm like, no ... I just did what was best for me," she said.

Although the reaction to Rose was negative during The Last Jedi, fans appeared to have grown to respect the character after Tran left social media. By the time Rose returned in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, there were no issues about Rose's storyline or her role in the film.
