Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Update Revealed at Comic-Con 2020

There is little doubt that Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is one of the most highly anticipated shows in the next year. After all, the upcoming spin-off series will focus on the adventures of Captain Christopher Pike and his crew. Although updates have been slow, Alex Kurtzman has just shared great news at Comic-Con@Home.

Kurtzman recently took part in the Star Trek Universepanel at Comic-Con where he was quick to reveal that Strange New Worlds has already been in early development last year. In fact, he had wanted to share the news at last year's Comic-Con but decided against it until everything was made official.

"I really wanted to tell everyone about it last Comic-Con," Kurtzman said. "People were poking around and asking questions, and we couldn't say anything. But we were already having real active conversations at that point."

Luckily, the new show has been announced and it was confirmed that Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn, and Ethan Peck will return as Pike, Number One, and Spock, respectively. Kurtzman also added that stories have already been written for the series.

"The room has started. There are 10 stories broken, which is very exciting. They are just sort of at the beginning. But it was one of those shows that I think everybody came in with such enthusiasm and so much love," he said.

For now, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has not yet been given an official release date. Likewise, it is still unclear when the show will begin production. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
