Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Set for Major Lower Decks Crossover

Are you already excited for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds? Although we have yet to find out when the Star Trek: Discovery spin-off is going to begin production, we already know that the new show will bring back Captain Christopher Pike, Number One, and Ensign Spock. But what are the chances we'll get a major crossover between two different shows? Akiva Goldsman has just admitted that they are planning a crossover with Star Trek: Lower Decks that will bring together two particular characters.

It's no secret that Rebecca Romijn will reprise her role as Number One in Strange New Worlds but she's not the only one in her family who is part of the Star Trek Universe. After all, her husband Jerry O'Connell also provides the voice of First Officer Jack Ransom in Lower Decks. So will we get to see these two characters together? Goldsman says it's possible.

"I do want to want to be clear, without violating any confidentiality agreements, that I have already begun advocating for the crossover episode," Goldsman said during the Strange New Worlds panel at Star Trek Day (via Comicbook.com).

This certainly sounds promising although we're not sure how it would work. Will O'Connell play a live-action version of Ransom in Strange New Worlds? Perhaps an animated version of Number One could visit the crew in Lower Decks. Either way, we can't wait to see the interaction between the two First Officers.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has not yet been given an official production start or release date. Meanwhile, Star Trek: Lower Decks has already been renewed for a second season.
