Star Trek: Picard's Patrick Stewart Reveals How TNG Characters will Return

We're still a week away from the premiere of Star Trek: Picard but people already have a lot of questions about the upcoming CBS All Access series. For instance, how exactly does Jean-Luc Picard get reunited with his former crew? Luckily, Patrick Stewart has explained how the new series will bring back the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Stewart recently spoke to Digital Spy about how Picard will eventually re-introduce several beloved characters. However, he also pointed out that it won't happen right away.

"I have to say that we don't see everyone in Picard," Stewart said. "That doesn't mean we are not going to see everyone in time, because we are all excited at the prospect of having some of The Next Generation cast showing up in this new world that we're in now. It's great to think about, 'What has happened to them?'"

Stewart was quick to point out that one of the first things that we will learn in Picard would have to do with Deanna Troi and William Riker.

"Well, we will see what has happened to Counsellor Troi and Commander Riker, who are married with a family now. There is one whole episode dedicated to what has become of them because Picard is in trouble and he has to run somewhere to hide. He goes to them," Stewart said.

He also added that Brent Spiner's Data will immediately show up in the first episode. Needless to say, we're already looking forward to the premiere of the new series.

Star Trek: Picard will air on CBS All Access on January 23.
