Star Trek: Karl Urban Weighs In On Quentin Tarantino's R-Rated Film

You might have heard that Quentin Tarantino is intent on working on a Star Trek film that he says will be like "Pulp Fiction in Space." While the idea of an R-rated Star Trek movie raised some eyebrows, it looks like Karl Urban is eager to see what the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood director will come up with.

Urban recently spoke to Huffpost about Tarantino's plans for a Star Trek film, which the former Lord of the Rings actor had previously called "bananas." Of course, he meant that in a good way.

"I think Quentin Tarantino doing that film would be phenomenal," Urban said. "He is definitely one of the most exciting filmmakers that's currently working and if he has an interest in making a Star Trek film, I think the studio would be insane not to let him do that."

Not surprisingly, Urban is also interested in reprising his role as Bones McCoy in Tarantino's project.

"Obviously, I'd very much relish the opportunity to be a part of it if it came to be," he said.

Interestingly, Urban isn't the only one who is excited about Tarantino's Star Trek film. It was previously reported that William Shatner is open to the idea as well although he couldn't help but joke about what his version of Captain James T. Kirk will be doing in the movie.

"[Running wild] through the fields of hay, running, running, and then having a heart attack and falling down," Shatner said.

Tarantino's Star Trek movie has yet to be officially announced. In the meantime, Urban is currently working on The Boys Season 2.
