It has been a while since we got an update on Star Trek: Discovery Season 3. Although the next chapter of the series has already wrapped principal photography, there hasn't been any news about its premiere just yet. Unfortunately, it looks like Discovery could be yet another victim of the Coronavirus outbreak shutdowns. Two stars from the show have suggested that the third season could be delayed due to the pandemic.
Wilson Cruz recently hosted a live chat on his official Instagram account where he discussed Discovery Season 3 and confirmed that the series could soon return on CBS All Access. During the chat, Cruz's co-star Anthony Rapp left a comment revealing that the crew are still working on the visual effects and editing on the show. Rapp noted that the crew is currently working from home and that it could slow the process.
Cruz later posted about Rapp's comments on Twitter. Take a look at his tweet below.
"I didn't see @albinokid's comment this morning on #InstagramLive... but see for yourself in regards to #startrekdiscovery season 3. It's coming, but it may be a little longer than we thought... It's coming though!" Cruz wrote.
There have been speculations that Discovery Season 3 would premiere soon after the conclusion of Star Trek: Picard. However, the first season of the Patrick Stewart series is already set to end next week and CBS has not yet given Discovery a release date. Hopefully, things will change in the coming weeks.
Star Trek: Discovery Season 3 is expected to air on CBS All Access in mid-2020.
