Spider-Man 3 Will Reportedly Feature Tom Holland Speaking Filipino


We already know that Peter Parker is a smart kid who speaks other languages. After all, he understood and responded in Spanish to Mr. Delmar in the first Spider-Man film. Interestingly, it looks like Spider-Man 3 could feature Tom Holland speaking a different language yet again, and this time, it could be a tribute to all the Filipino fans.

A new report from Geekosity points out that a source has confirmed that Holland's character will speak Filipino in an upcoming Spider-Man film. This will be in line with Marvel Studios acknowledging Jacob Batalon's heritage.

Batalon was born in Hawaii to Filipino parents and it is believed that his heritage will cross over into his character Ned Leeds. At one point, Ned's Filipino mother could be introduced in the Spider-Man movies, making way for Peter to speak Tagalog.

Interestingly, the report also points out that the idea will also introduce diversity into the Marvel Cinematic Universe and pay tribute to Filipino fans who have supported MCU films. According to the outlet, several Marvel movies including three Avengers flicks, Captain Marvel, and Iron Man 3.

But will Peter speak Filipino in Spider-Man 3? For now, it has not yet been confirmed whether the third Spider-Man film will be the one that will introduce Ned's mother. Nevertheless, this is something truly exciting that fans can look forward to in the future.

Spider-Man 3 is currently in production and is scheduled to premiere on December 17, 2021.
