We finally know the official title of Shazam 2, thanks to the unofficial poster that was unveiled at last month's DC FanDome panel for the film. But which villains will be showing up in Shazam: Fury of the Gods? Director David F. Sandberg has teased on what to expect in the upcoming DC Extended Universe sequel.

Sandberg was recently in attendance at the Shazam! panel at DC FanDome this weekend where he was asked who will be the main villain in Fury of the Gods. Interestingly, the filmmaker chose to play coy.

"I can't really talk about villains or villain, but I think a lot of people will be surprised," Sandberg said. "It's gonna be a little unexpected."

We already got a hint at what will happen in the first film's post-credits scene where Mister Mind introduced his wormy butt to Dr. Sivana. Perhaps Sandberg is referring to the other DC comic book baddies who will team up with the two? Or will the whole idea of Mister Mind being the main villain gets scrapped? Hopefully, we'll get more details soon.

Sandberg also confirmed that Fury of the Gods will feature more of the Shazam Family in action. "Now they're all superheroes, they're all a family with superpowers. And now we finally get to see that. We only got a glimpse of that in the first movie, so that's something to look forward to," he said.

Shazam: Fury of the Gods is set to begin production early next year and is scheduled for release on November 4, 2022.
