Shazam! Director Unleashes New Horror Movie Filmed During COVID-19 Quarantine

How bored are you during the Coronavirus outbreak quarantine? Filmmaker David F. Sandberg is so bored that he actually ended up making a horror film. The Shazam! director has just unleashed a creepy new short that was completely shot in his own home.

Sandberg shared the new short titled Shadowed on his official YouTube channel. According to the filmmaker, the new film is "sort of a companion piece to our short Lights Out." He also advised people to "watch loud in the dark."

The new short was shot in Sandberg's own home and stars his wife Lotta Lotsen, who also appeared in 2013's Lights Out and the full-length version released in 2016. Interestingly, this one has an unexpectedly hilarious ending as Lotta's character says, "Oh f--k," but her words are cut off. It's an awesome reminder that she has been through this situation before but this time, she has more monsters to worry about.

We're loving the idea that Sandberg and Lotsen have decided to do something truly creative while in self-quarantine. Although the short isn't as original as the first one, it's still an awesome show of creativity and we're hoping that we'll see more films from the duo.

Sandberg is set to work on the second Shazam! film with Zachary Levi this summer although the movie isn't due out until April 1, 2022. However, it looks like production might have to be put on hold due to COVID-19. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
