Samuel L Jackson Reacts To Martin Scorsese's Marvel Diss

Nick Fury has spoken. Samuel L. Jackson has just shared his thoughts on Martin Scorsese's recent comments about Marvel films being "not cinema" and he's surprisingly open-minded about the whole thing.

Variety caught up with Jackson at the opening of Tyler Perry's new studio in Atlanta and they asked the Captain Marvel star how he felt about the filmmaker's comments. Interestingly, Jackson said that he heard about Scorsese's comments but didn't really pay too much attention to it.

"It's like saying, Bugs Bunny ain't funny," he said before adding that "films are films" and that most people also didn't like Scorsese's movies. You can hear his full response below.

Sure, Scorsese's comment about Marvel might be shocking for fans but the Irishman director is still entitled to his own opinion. Of course, that doesn't mean he's right, but it's still his opinion, anyway.

In case you missed it, here's what Scorsese had to say about Marvel Cinematic Universe films.

"I don't see them. I tried, you know? But that's not cinema," Scorsese said. "Honestly, the closest I can think of them, as well made as they are, with actors doing the best they can under the circumstances, is theme parks. It isn't the cinema of human beings trying to convey emotional, psychological experiences to another human being."

On a lighter note, Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings star Simu Liu pointed out that theme parks are a great place to be.
