Some jokes are just meant to be rewarded. Ryan Reynolds recently decided to send a gift to the owner of the domain AvengersEndgame.com for redirecting visitors to the official Once Upon a Deadpool page.
In case you missed it, Twitter user @AGuyInChair recently announced that he owns the domain AvengersEndgame.com as well as AvengersEndgameMovie.com. However, he is willing to hand it over to Marvel and Disney in exchange for two premiere tickets. In the meantime, he decided to redirect visitors to the page promoting Once Upon a Deadpool, a move that earned him a present from Reynolds himself.
Reynolds immediately responded to the tweet, slyly confirming that he's happy with @AGuyInChair.
As it turns out, the present did come from Reynolds, who happens to own the gin company Aviation. In addition to that, @AGuyInChair confirmed with ComicBook.com that he was previously informed that he would be receiving a package.
"Got an email from his manager on Monday. He said they enjoyed the shenanigans and wanted to send a little ‘hat tip' for the redirect. Had no idea what it would be, though. Expectations exceeded," the domain owner said.
Sadly, both sites no longer redirect to the Once Upon A Deadpool page. Instead, it features a message from Santa Claus for Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.
Marvel and Disney have not yet contacted the domain owner about the possible exchange. Hopefully, we'll get an update on that soon and he could finally get the premiere tickets that he wants so badly.
Once Upon A Deadpool is currently in theaters. Avengers: Endgame is scheduled for release on April 26, 2019.
