People are certainly glad that Avengers: Endgame answered several questions about what would happen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, the film also ended up leaving a few puzzles as well. For instance, fans are wondering what happened to Gamora after Tony Stark snapped Thanos and his army away from existence.

So did Gamora survive? Or was she one of the people who were erased by Iron Man's actions? Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo claim to have no idea what happened to Thanos' favorite daughter and that her fate would be in James Gunn's hands.

The Russo brothers were recently interviewed by Business Insider and were asked if they can explain what happened to Gamora in Endgame. The directors chose to say that this could be revealed in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

"We don't know whether she was dusted or whether she survived. That's probably a question that Guardians will answer," Joe said, to which Anthony added, "Quill doesn't know either."

Amusingly, the Endgame directors confirmed that it's up to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 director James Gunn to deal with Gamora. "We've done our job," Anthony said.

But what are the chances that Gamora survived the third dusting? In Endgame, the past Gamora encountered Peter Quill during the epic battle against Thanos but disappeared after the Mad Titan was defeated. Star-Lord was also searching for her before his fellow Guardians joined him in the Benatar so there's a huge chance that Peter will be keeping an eye out for his beloved in Vol. 3.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is expected to begin production in 2021 and could be given a 2022 release date.
