Robert Downey Jr Reminds Tom Holland Of His Humble MCU Beginning In Hilarious Birthday Post

Happy Birthday, Tom Holland! The Avengers: Endgame star has just turned 23 but he's already one of the most promising actors today with several projects lined up in the future. Not surprisingly, his Spider-Man: Homecoming co-star Robert Downey Jr. wants to remind Holland of his humble beginnings in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Downey took to his official Instagram account to greet Holland on his 23rd birthday. As with most of the Sherlock Holmes 3 star's usual posts, the greeting is heartwarming and hilarious. Check it out below.

"@tomholland2013 from 'Underoos' to overlord, it's been a thrill to watch you rise, and we're all pretty darned glad u were born," Downey wrote, adding the hashtag #happybirthday.

The video is from the Captain America: Civil War airport scene where Tony Stark tried to stop Steve Rogers from leaving with Bucky Barnes. Of course, it's the part where Iron Man unveiled his new secret weapon who he summoned by calling out, "Underoos!"

Civil War isn't exactly Holland's first film but his brief appearance as Peter Parker introduced the young star to millions of MCU fans. At that point, he was already confirmed to lead his own Sony movie but there is little doubt that Civil War endeared Holland to everyone. Needless to say, the Onward actor is poised for more successful flicks in the future.

Holland is currently working on Chaos Walking with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker actress Daisy Ridley. His next big film is Spider-Man: Far From Home, which premieres on July 2.
