Richard E Grant Says His Star Wars Episode IX Character Is New, Teases Possible Action Figure

People have been speculating about Richard E. Grant's role in Star Wars: Episode IX ever since the Can You Ever Forgive Me? actor was announced to join the cast. However, Grant wants to assure you that his character is someone you haven't met before and he might even get his own action figure.

Grant is aware of all the theories about his character and he knows that you are hoping he is playing the live-action version of Grand Admiral Thrawn in Episode IX. He's probably even heard of the one where people are claiming he could be an older Obi-Wan Kenobi. However, as he has told Radio Times, his character is someone he could call his own.

"I hadn't thought of it like that, but the character is just mine!" Grant said with a laugh. He also teased on the possibility that he might be getting his own action figure.

"I don't know about the action figure or whether there will be one, but this is pretty amazing," he said.

So who could Grant possibly be playing in Episode IX? There have been speculations that he could be connected to the First Order. Additionally, Grant might even share some screentime with former Doctor Who co-star Matt Smith.

It was previously reported that Grant refused to admit that he will have a scene with the man who played the Eleventh Doctor in Episode IX. However, this only led to more speculations that the two will be working together closely on the film.

Star Wars: Episode IX will premiere on December 20.
