Rahul Kohli Admits Haunting of Bly Manor Co-Stars Believed Star Wars Ezra Bridger Casting

In case you missed it, Rahul Kohli has officially denied being cast as Ezra Bridger in an upcoming Star Wars project. However, that doesn't mean everyone was completely convinced he would play the live-action version of the Star Wars Rebels character. Kohli has just admitted that even his Haunting of Bly Manor co-stars thought he had won the part and congratulated him.

Kohli recently spoke to Comicbook.com where he shared what happened when he suddenly began trending on Twitter after joking about the Star Wars casting.

"That week, when that happened, I went to Mike [Flanagan]'s house on a Saturday. And the worst I felt was when I came through the doors, Mike and Kate [Siegel] were there, and they were like, 'Dude, seriously, congratulations!' And I had to be like, 'No!, I made it up,'" Kohli said.

But why was he compelled to joke about the Ezra casting? Kohli confessed that he was very interested in the role when he first heard the rumors about the character being cast.

"It was an accident, I was watching Rebels that morning. There was a [casting] rumor, about six months ago that Disney was looking for a live-action Ezra Bridger. Looking for a Middle Eastern, Asian, South Asian representation, late twenties to early thirties. Obviously I'm 34, so I'm good to go," he said. He then continued by stating that he actually asked his agency to look into the casting.

"I sent that rumor to my team and I asked them, 'Hey, can you confirm whether or not this casting is a thing, I'd like to read if possible, throw me in a room or something.' Never heard back. My team were like, 'We'll look into it,' and I never heard back," Kohli said.

It's still disappointing to know that Kohli will not be playing Ezra after all. Nevertheless, we're hoping that Lucasfilm and Disney will actually consider the former Supergirl star for the role if they plan to introduce the character into a live-action project.

Kohli appears in The Haunting of Bly Manor, which is currently streaming on Netflix.
