Pennywise Could Return in It: Chapter 3

The story of the Losers Club may have concluded in It: Chapter Two but it looks like we haven't seen the last of Pennywise the Dancing Clown just yet. Screenwriter Gary Dauberman has just teased on the possibility that there will be yet another It movie that could focus solely on Bill Skarsgard's terrifying character.

Dauberman, who wrote the screenplay for It: Chapter Two, recently spoke to ComicBookMovie where he admitted that he has some ideas on how a third movie can work.

"I do think it's possible," Dauberman said. "Anything in the Stephen King Universe interests me but there's only so much of the story we could tell in the two movies. There are definitely elements of the novel you could expand on and make its own movie."

It certainly sounds like Dauberman is planning to look into Pennywise's origins, which was briefly shown in Chapter Two. The Annabelle Comes Home director continued by pointing out that the Losers Club were not the only ones who were terrorized by the clown/alien/monster in its long stay in Derry.

"It's just a question of whether or not people want to see it but I do think It was on this planet for a very, very, very long time and that's a lot of bloodshed and a lot of stories to tell and I think you could do that for sure," Dauberman said.

It's an interesting idea that could work for horror fans especially since Skarsgard has already teased on an It prequel. However, it's important to point out that Warner Bros. has not yet confirmed a third It movie. Nevertheless, we wouldn't be surprised if the studio takes on Dauberman's idea.

It: Chapter Two is currently available on digital. The DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K will be released on December 10.
