What would you do if you realized that magic is real and could potentially bring back a loved one? In the case of the two brothers in the Disney Pixar film Onward, you set off on an adventure to rediscover everything magical and possibly end up having to deal with some crazy creatures along the way.

The new trailer for Onward opens with Ian Lightfoot (Tom Holland) being told by his mother (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) that she has a gift for him from his late father. Laurel Lightfoot tells Ian and his brother Barley (Chris Pratt) that her husband had instructed her to give the boys the gift when they are both over 16-years-old. Amazingly, the present turns out to be a wizard's staff that could bring back their dad for one day.

It doesn't take long before Ian and Barley try the staff out but their spell only works halfway. Unfortunately, they only get half of their father and decide to find a way to fix the spell. That's when all the crazy and magical things happen to them.

The journey brings the brothers to parts unknown where they encounter a herd of angry unicorns as well as punk pixies that have taken over a convenience store. But will they forget about their true mission?

The synopsis for Onward reads as follows:

"Set in a suburban fantasy world, Disney and Pixar’s Onward introduces two teenage elf brothers who embark on an extraordinary quest to discover if there is still a little magic left out there."

Onward is scheduled for release on March 6, 2020.
