New Onward Trailer Focuses on Tom Holland, Chris Pratt's 'Half-Dad'

There is little doubt that the upcoming Disney film Onward will focus on Tom Holland and Chris Pratt's characters as they set off on a journey to rediscover magic. However, the new trailer for new Pixar feature shines the spotlight on why they are off on an adventure in the first place: their awesome 'Half-Dad'.

The trailer opens with Holland's Ian Lightfoot listening to a recording made by his father telling him about how the world used to be filled with wonder. However, things have changed as people somehow decided to take a shortcut into things. Nevertheless, Ian's father believes that magic would eventually return.

There isn't a lot of new footage in the new trailer but you get to see that Barley Lightfoot actually encourages his little brother to use magic for other purposes. At one point, he tries to convince Ian to create a bridge so they can cross two cliffs. The trailer doesn't show if it works but it appears that Ian actually takes a leap of faith. Hopefully, the trick actually works because that looks like a really steep cliff.

The film also features the voices of Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Laurel Lightfoot and Octavia Spencer as Corey, a manticore who owns a restaurant.

The description of the movie reads as follows:

"Set in a suburban fantasy world, Disney and Pixar's Onward introduces two teenage elf brothers who embark on an extraordinary quest to discover if there is still a little magic left out there."

Onward is scheduled for release on March 6, 2020.
