New Alien Short Film Confirms David Created The 'Perfect Organism'

It has been two years since the release of Alien: Covenant and the franchise is celebrating with the release of a new short film focusing on David's disturbing research.

The film titled Last Signs of Life opens with an unnamed Weyland-Yutani scientist coming across David's tiny workspace on the Engineer planet. He finds the android's strange project that included a pathogen dispersion device as well as illustrations of the pathogen's effects.

As the scientist continues exploring, he soon realizes that David had attempted to create hybrids in the lab. He later discovers that something is still alive in the abandoned laboratory.

It doesn't take long before the scientist begins to realize that the strange object contains something that is still active and ready to strike. Unfortunately, by the time he knows about his error, it is already too late.

The short film was created in collaboration with YouTube Space LA, who painstakingly recreated David's lab on Paradise. It's amazing work and the film perfectly captures the tension of realizing that there is a facehugger that's about to pop out at any time.

Alien: Covenant starred Michael Fassbender as David, the android that somehow created the Xenomorph that would eventually terrify the crew of Nostromo in Alien. Without David trying to create the "perfect organism," most of us probably had no reason to fear outer space.

The YouTube channel Alien Anthology comes up with interesting short films that are all part of the Alien franchise. Make sure to follow the channel for more amazing short films.
