Netflix's Diablo Series Might Be Helmed By Hellboy Screenwriter

The highly anticipated Diablo series might be a showrunner pretty soon.

The animated show based on the Blizzard Entertainment game has yet to make an announcement about who will be its executive producer. However, Hellboy screenwriter Andrew Cosby has confirmed on Twitter that he is in "final talks" to work on the script and "show-run" the series (via ComicBook.com).

"I guess I can confirm I am indeed in final talks to write and show-run the new DIABLO animated series for Activision and Netflix. It's very exciting and I hope to the High Heavens it all works out," Cosby wrote.

Unfortunately, Cosby has deleted the tweet in response to a netizen asking about his involvement in the show. Nevertheless, it certainly has us excited for the Diablo series.

Cosby is the co-founder of Boom! Studios and co-creator of the Syfy series Eureka. His most recent project is the Hellboy reboot starring Stranger Things actor David Harbour. Needless to say, his possible involvement in Diablo will be a welcome one so we're really hoping Cosby gets the job.

It was recently confirmed that Netflix's Diablo series will be animated. This is certainly great news and we're looking forward to more updates in the future.

So when exactly will we get confirmation about Cosby's involvement in Diablo? There is a possibility that things will be made official ahead of the 2018 BlizzCon this November. By then, we will be getting more details about what to expect in the Netflix series.

Diablo III is currently due for a console re-release on Nintendo Switch this November. Although the game was originally released on PC, it will soon be available to Switch players. The new collection will include all of the game's expansions.

BlizzCon 2018 will take place at the Anaheim Convention Center on November 2-3.
