Do you want another season of Lucifer? It looks like Netflix feels the same way. A new report reveals that the streaming giant is hoping to work on Lucifer Season 6 although the series is expected to end with its fifth season.
The report from TVLine points out that Netflix is currently in talks with Warner Bros. Television in hopes to extend Lucifer for yet another season. If a deal is made, this will mean that Lucifer Season 5 will not be the show's final season.
It's no surprise that Netflix wants to continue working on more Lucifer episodes. After all, there was an overwhelming response from fans when the series was first canceled by Fox and was promptly saved by the streaming giant. The fourth season, which was the first season that aired on Netflix, also got great reviews so there is a huge possibility that the network isn't ready to let go of the property.
Fans also believe that Netflix reconsidered Lucifer's cancellation after Tom Ellis' brief appearance in the Arrowverse crossover event Crisis on Infinite Earths. Although the character only showed up for a short time, people believed that the interaction between Lucifer and Constantine teased on an immense backstory that deserves an entire season. In addition to that, it could mean we'll be seeing more Constantine in the future.
For now, Netflix and Warner Bros. Television have not yet confirmed Lucifer Season 6. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
Lucifer Season 5 is expected to premiere on Netflix later this year.
