Netflix Announces Assassin's Creed Live-Action Series

It looks like Netflix will be adapting another popular game franchise. The streaming giant has just announced a live-action series based on Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed.

The announcement was made through a short teaser posted on the NX Twitter account. Check it out below.

A second tweet confirms that the project is a live-action series that will be supervised by the game's big bosses.

"Netflix will be developing an Assassin's Creed live-action series. @Ubisofts 's Jason Altman and Danielle Kreinik will serve as Executive Producers," the second tweet reads.

For now, there aren't many details about the upcoming show. However, fans are hoping that the series will focus on past assassins instead of bringing everything to the future. With that in mind, we're hoping we'll get to see Altaïr Ibn-LaʼAhad in action.

The Assassin's Creed game series follows an ancient struggle between the Assassins, who fight for peace with free will, and the Templars, who desire peace through order and control. The games span several millennia, at some point taking place in the past or in the far future.

The Assassin's Creed series is just one of many video game adaptations fans can expect from Netflix. We already know that the streaming giant has been very successful with The Witcher and is currently developing a show adapting Resident Evil. We have high hopes for Assassin's Creed and can't wait to get more updates on this story.

What do you think of a Netflix show adapting Assassin's Creed? Is it a great idea or should the network scrap it? Sound off in the comments below.
