Netflix Announces Altered Carbon Season 2 Cast List Including Luke Cage's Simone Missick

The second season of Altered Carbon is officially in production and Netflix made sure to introduce the new cast in style. Interestingly, one of the awesome new additions happens to be Misty Knight herself.

Netflix released a new video announcing the Altered Carbon Season 2 cast list. Not surprisingly, it opens with Anthony Mackie, who will take over as Takeshi Kovacs after Joel Kinnaman. It is then revealed that Luke Cage star Simone Missick has been added as Trepp, who is described as an expert bounty hunter "known for her ability to track down anyone in the Settled Worlds, for the right price."

The second season will also introduce Dina Shihabi as Dig 301, "an out-of-work A.I. programmed to assist human archeologists" who "finds a new purpose when she meets [Kovacs' own A.I.] Poe." Torben Liebrecht joins the cast as Colonel Ivan Carrera, "the dogged leader of a Protectorate Special Forces unit known as the Wedge" who is looking for Kovacs.

The fifth new cast member is James Saito, who will play Tanaseda Hideki. He is "a centuries-old Yakuza boss [who] controls organized crime on the planet of Harlan's World and shares a history with Kovacs."

Rounding out the Season 2 cast are Renée Elise Goldsberry and Chris Conner, who will reprise their roles as Quellcrist Falconer and Poe, respectively.

Laeta Kalogridis will be joined by Alison Schapker, who will serve as co-showrunner in the second season. Altered Carbon Season 2 has not yet been given a release date. Nevertheless, the series is expected to return on Netflix by late 2019 or early 2020.
