There is little doubt that people are already excited about Good Omens, the new series based on the novel by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. In fact, fans won't stop bothering Gaiman about revealing when the show will air. Not surprisingly, the American Gods author had a cool way to shut down any demands for an update.
A fan recently reached out to Gaiman on Twitter pleading the writer to announce the show's premiere date. "I love you and your work but without a release date these Good Omens teases are not enjoyable for me at least. A release date would change it," they wrote. Gaiman, who is always quick to answer his followers, immediately shut him down with an amazing response.
"First you had nothing. Then you had a Year. Now you have a Season. One day you will have a Release Date. Then you will have Viewing Parties. And then, long after, we shall all be dust," Gaiman wrote.
It's easy to understand why the fan is demanding an update. After all, we have been waiting for the Good Omens series for more than two years. Nevertheless, people were quick to point out that the show shouldn't be rushed so that we can all get a perfectly-crafted adaptation.
There have been speculations that production has already wrapped but Gaiman and the producers have not made an announcement about the premiere date just yet. Although we might need to wait a little longer, we can all rest assured that Good Omens will please book readers and new audiences alike.
Good Omens will be led by David Tennant as Crowley and Michael Sheen as Aziraphale. It also boasts of an all-star cast including Frances McDormand, Jon Hamm, Derek Jacobi, Miranda Richardson, Nick Offerman, Steve Pemberton, and Mark Gatiss.
