People are probably looking forward to new X-Men films now that the franchise is officially part of Marvel Studios through Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox. However, it looks like the mutants or Fantastic Four will not be showing up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe within the next four years.
A Reddit user simply known as TheMarvelScoopMaster has been dishing out on some interesting details about what will happen in the MCU. When one Redditor asked why there haven't been any updates about Doom being introduced as a villain, there was a surprising response.
"Marvel operates on a hard 3-4 year plan, and beyond that is vague ideas and concepts. With some exceptions, you're not going to see Fox-Marvel characters inside that 3-4 year window. Minor characters sure, but don't expect X-Men, F4, or Doom," they wrote.
The mysterious Redditor also revealed that there are no plans just yet to make another Fantastic Four movie.
"Marvel won't have anything F4/X-Men related for another 5 years at the least. There's 10+ projects that are further in development and with 3 movies a year, Marvel has at least 3-4 years of content to push out first," they wrote.
This is certainly disappointing news for fans who are hoping to see the X-Men and Fantastic Four joining the MCU in Phase 4. Nevertheless, it is good to know that Marvel Studios will eventually introduce everyone into the MCU.
The final (at least, for now) X-Men movie is Dark Phoenix, which is currently screening in theaters worldwide.
