Mark Hamill And William Shatner Get Into 'Twitter War' Over Star Trek Logo On Mars

What happens when NASA discovers a familiar-looking symbol on Mars? If you were Mark Hamill and William Shatner, you engage in a hilarious Twitter War.

CNN recently reported about an image captured by NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter which shows a strange chevron that is shaped like the logo of Starfleet from Star Trek. Not surprisingly, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker actor Hamill saw the news and shared it on Twitter with a hilarious caption. Check it out below.

OK, so it does look like a boomerang but Shatner wasn't going to let Hamill throw some shade at Star Trek. The Wrath of Khan actor quickly responded to Hamill's tweet.

Oh, it is on! Hamill didn't let Shatner have the last say on the matter by changing his previous statement about the boomerang.

If you're worried about a Star Wars vs Star Trek feud here, you can rest assured that the two actors are just having a bit of fun on social media. After all, this isn't the first time that Hamill and Shatner have poked fun at each other. Shatner has previously joked about Hamill's new role in Child's Play, stating that he is turning into his father (Darth Vader).

Wondering about the strange image from Mars? The shape that was discovered in the southeast Hellas Planitia region of Mars was actually created by wind, lava, and dunes. The crescent-shaped dunes may have been moved by lava following an eruption and left them pointing up like islands. So no, Starfleet didn't actually leave that logo there. Or maybe they did.
