The premiere of Game of Thrones Season 8 is almost here and it's only a matter of time before we learn who will eventually rule the Seven Kingdoms. However, Maisie Williams already knows who should take the Iron Throne in the final season. Not surprisingly, her choice reflects how much Arya Stark truly believes in her family.
Williams recently spoke to Variety at the final season's premiere in New York. When asked who should rule Westeros in Game of Thrones Season 8, the New Mutants star didn't even think twice.
"Sansa Stark. I think Sansa is just the most incredible character and I think she's learned so much. And I think the world would be a better place with Sansa Stark on the Iron Throne," Williams said.
People might assume that Williams immediately chose Sophie Turner's character because they are best friends. However, there is more to the answer than one would actually expect. After all, Sansa has already proven that she could be a great leader who learned from big hitters like Cersei Lannister, Olenna Tyrell, and Petyr Baelish. She also made sure Littlefinger learned that she isn't someone who should be underestimated.
So did Williams actually reveal who will be the new Queen of the Seven Kingdoms in the final season? People are still rooting for other major players like Daenerys Targaryen or Jon Snow. However, it wouldn't be a huge surprise if Sansa eventually rules Westeros this year.
Game of Thrones Season 8 will finally premiere on HBO on April 14.
