Loki Series Will Reveal What Happened To Tom Hiddleston's Character After Avengers: Endgame

We already know that Loki is coming back in his own Disney+ series but will the show actually serve as a prequel to the God of Mischief's early days? The answer is, not exactly. As it turns out, the Loki we'll see in the highly anticipated Marvel series will follow the Loki that got away in Avengers: Endgame.

The premise of the Loki series was revealed at the Marvel Studios panel at Hall H in this year's San Diego Comic-Con (via Comicbook.com). Instead of following a young God of Mischief, the show will reveal what happened to Loki after he escaped the Avengers after the Battle of New York.

In Endgame, three of the Avengers (Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, and Scott Lang) went back in time to the Battle of New York to retrieve the Tesseract and Loki's sceptre. Unfortunately, things don't turn out too well for Tony and Scott when Alexander Pierce stepped in to take the Space Stone. Although they managed to create a distraction, the confusion also allowed Loki to get his hands on his favorite Infinity Stone and escape with it.

Personally, I thought that the scene in Endgame was going to be an excellent way to bring back the Loki who tried to rule Earth in the first Avengers movie. It would be interesting to see if he eventually grows more fond of humans in the series.

Tom Hiddleston will reprise his role in the Loki series, which is set to premiere on Disney+ in Spring 2021.
