People are currently celebrating now that Disney has reinstated James Gunn as the director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Not surprisingly, the stars of the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe flick are delighted as well. Karen Gillan has an awesome reaction to the great news.

Gillan took to Twitter as soon as Gunn himself tweeted out a message to his supporters. The Avengers: Endgame actress posted a short but sweet message. Take a look at her tweet below.

It's a poignant line that brings us all back to the first Guardians of the Galaxy film when Groot finally changed his usual phrase to accommodate his beloved companions. The tweet somehow confirms that the GOTG family is whole again now that Gunn is back in charge of the third film.

Gunn was fired back after his old offensive tweets resurfaced in July 2018. The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 director has since met with Disney chairman Alan Horn although Horn insisted they still had no plans to reinstate Gunn to the project.

However, there have been reports stating that Disney and Marvel Studios had already agreed to bring Gunn back several months ago and only waited until now to make the announcement. This means the studios weren't actually looking for a new director to take over GOTGV3 after Gunn's firing.

The third GOTG film is currently on hold since Gunn has signed on to write and direct the DC Extended Universe flick Suicide Squad 2. The Marvel movie is expected to begin production once Gunn completes work on the DC film next year.
