Joker: Mark Hamill Reacts To Joaquin Phoenix's Performance

It's been a long wait but Joker is finally out in theaters. Not surprisingly, people have mixed reactions to the film. However, the one opinion that seems to matter right now is that of Mark Hamill, who has played the Clown Prince of Crime for the longest time.

Hamill admitted on Twitter that he has already seen the movie. Here's what he has to say about Joaquin Phoenix's performance in the Todd Phillips film.

"The #JokerMovie opens today. The awesome Joaquin Phoenix, Todd Phillips & Scott Silver brilliantly reimagine the character as never seen before! 2 thumbs up from that old-school, comic book version... me," Hamill wrote.

It's a cool comment from someone who has played the Joker in so many animated features including Batman: The Animated Series. Hamill's most recent gig as the DC supervillain was in an episode of Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? back in September. Either way, it's great to know that the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker actor is a huge fan of the movie that is an unusual take on Joker's story.

Joker has already earned $13.3 million on Thursday night alone and is set for a huge domestic box office take over the weekend. In addition to that, the movie already raked in $24.6 million internationally over the past two days so things are looking good for the Clown Prince of Crime and Warner Bros.

Joker is currently screening in theaters worldwide. Hamill's movie Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will hit theaters on December 20.
