Joker Director Todd Phillips Shares New Image Of Joaquin Phoenix As Arthur

It has been a while since we got any updates on the Joker film starring Joaquin Phoenix. Luckily, director Todd Phillips has just shared an interesting new photo of his lead star as the DC movie nears completion.

Phillips posted the picture of Phoenix on his official Instagram account. Interestingly, it shows the actor tinkering with an old TV set and comes with a promising caption. Take a look at the image below.

"Editing," Phillips wrote, adding the hashtag #Joker. Although there's not much to go on with the photo, it's interesting to note that Arthur Fleck isn't wearing the colorful face makeup that has been seen numerous times in paparazzi photos and videos. Instead, we see a regular guy possibly watching old videos on his TV.

There are speculations that the picture shows Arthur reminiscing the old days and watching the videos could be one of the reasons why he ultimately breaks and becomes the Clown Prince of Crime. However, this is still based on theory so we recommend taking it with a grain of salt.

The film will also star Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, Billy Camp, and Frances Conroy. It has also been confirmed that the movie will feature Brett Cullen as Thomas Wayne while Dante Pereira-Olson will portray his young son Bruce. Could this mean we'll see Thomas and his wife Martha Wayne die on screen for the nth time in history? We'll have to wait until October to find out for sure.

The synopsis for Joker reads as follows:

"In 1981, a failed stand-up comedian disregarded by the society that he lives in turns to a life of crime and chaos in Gotham City."

The official trailer for Joker has not yet been released but is expected to drop in the next few weeks. The film is scheduled for release on October 4.
