John Wick 3 Title Parabellum Hinted At What Will Happen In [SPOILERS]

There is little doubt that Keanu Reeves is running for his life in John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum. However, it looks like the film's title may have confirmed that a great war is coming and John Wick is once again right in the middle of it.

WARNING: Spoilers ahead, proceed with caution!

The term "Parabellum" is a Latin phrase for "prepare for war" and its inclusion in Chapter 3's subtitle already meant that a great battle is coming. However, John Wick 3 mostly focused on John's fight for survival and we don't get a glimpse at the "war" until the third act.

After meeting with The Elder, a senior member of the High Table, John accepts a mission to kill The Continental's owner Winston. However, when the time comes to kill the hotel manager, John refuses to kill Winston. As a result, The Adjudicator declares the hotel "deconsecrated" meaning that killing is once again permitted on the premises. This leads to John taking on the High Table's men and ultimately defeating them.

Unfortunately, it's not yet over. The Adjudicator makes a deal with Winston that will allow him to maintain control over The Continental as long as he kills John. Winston accepts and betrays John, shooting him as he falls from the roof.

Did you think it's over? This is John Wick. He is rescued by The Bowery King who asks John if he is pissed off with the High Table. John ominously answers, "Yeah."

Parabellum may have told us that we do have to prepare for war but that war has yet to come. John is already a major threat on his own but with the help of the infuriated Bowery King, there is little doubt that the great war will finally happen in John Wick: Chapter 4.

John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum hits theaters on May 17.
