John Boyega and Attack the Block Director Confirm Plans for Sequel

People might know him for Star Wars or Pacific Rim but John Boyega's first sci-fi film was actually an amazing cult classic. It has been years since Attack the Block had people worried about aliens but it looks like we might finally get to catch up on Moses and his friends. Boyega and director Joe Cornish have just teased on a possible sequel.

Attack the Block was released back in 2011 and it focused on a group of teens who band together to protect their block from alien invaders on Guy Fawkes Night. Although the movie pretty much concluded on a happy note, fans have been hoping to see more of the teenagers who fought all those aliens. Amazingly, Cornish has just confirmed during the Script Apartpodcast that he and Boyega have discussed a second film.

"We've got ideas. I met with John a couple of months ago to talk about it. We've always had ideas since after the first one, but obviously we've both been busy doing different things. In a weird way, kinda, the longer you leave it the more interesting it is. So that's what I'll say," Cornish said.

It didn't take long before Cornish's confirmation reached Boyega, who immediately commented about it on Twitter.

"....think imma need the whole of London for an army on this one...... " Boyega wrote.

Now that sounds exciting, considering that the first movie only covered a small portion of South London. Will the aliens return for Round 2? We're hoping that we get more updates from Cornish and Boyega soon.

Attack the Block also starred Doctor Who actress Jodie Whittaker, so there's a good chance she could return in the sequel.
