James Gunn Reacts To Being Reinstated As Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Director

In case you missed it, Disney has just decided to rehire James Gunn as director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The announcement certainly has a positive effect on Gunn, who just returned to social media to react to the news.

Gunn has been inactive on Facebook and Twitter since he was fired from the Marvel Cinematic Universe flick back in July. After all, the reason why he was removed from the project was because of some old offensive tweets he had posted. Nevertheless, Gunn is back and he is truly grateful for his supporters. Take a look at his tweet below.

"I am tremendously grateful to every person out there who has supported me over the past few months. I am always learning and will continue to work at being the best human being I can be. I deeply appreciate Disney's decision and I am excited to continue making films that investigate the ties of love that bind us all. I have been, and continue to be incredibly humbled by your love and support. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Love to you all," Gunn wrote.

According to Deadline, Disney and Marvel Studios have already decided to reinstate Gunn several months ago but waited before making an announcement.

The report states that Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn was moved by Gunn's public apology and had every intention to bring the director back to the project. Although it has been a long wait, we are truly glad that Disney decided that Gunn is the best candidate to helm Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
