James Gunn Offers The Suicide Squad Update Amidst COVID-19 Self-Quarantine

At this point, it seems like most people are losing things to do while in self-quarantine during the Coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19). However, James Gunn is still hard at work on The Suicide Squad. The filmmaker revealed that he is currently editing the highly-anticipated DC Extended Universe film at home.

A fan recently reached out to Gunn on Twitter asking how he has been passing the time during the mandatory self-quarantine. Interestingly, the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 director admitted he was still working on The Suicide Squad. Take a look at this response below.

"Working on The Suicide Squad edit (from home), writing, meditating, exercising, talking with my gf, talking with others on my phone, playing with my cat & dog, making a Spotify playlist for you guys, @criterionchannl, & doing what I can to help others while locked up in my house!" Gunn wrote.

Whew, at least, he's busy. In addition to editing the Warner Bros. film, it is possible that Gunn is currently tweaking the script for the third Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Fans can also expect a new Spotify playlist that has been created by the filmmaker in the near future.

The Suicide Squad was not one of the films that needed to be shut down during COVID-19 as production has already wrapped up by the time that self-quarantine was made mandatory. Needless to say, it looks like the movie will be ready in time for its premiere next year.

The Suicide Squad is currently scheduled for release on August 6, 2021.
