James Gunn Addresses Captain Marvel Easter Egg In Guardians Of The Galaxy

Everyone is still on the hunt for the final Guardians of the Galaxy Easter Egg that has yet to be found. But what are the chances that the Easter Egg had anything to do with Captain Marvel? Director James Gunn has addressed the possibility that Carol Danvers is the final GOTG clue we have all been looking for.

A fan recently reached out to Gunn on Twitter, asking if Captain Marvel was "the ultimate Easter Egg from Guardians of the Galaxy." The Suicide Squad director quickly responded to the tweet. Check it out below.

"There was no Captain Marvel in GotG," Gunn wrote. Oops, well, I guess that settles it, then.

This isn't the first time that Gunn has addressed the final Easter Egg this year. It was previously reported that the Brightburn producer confirmed that the mysterious clue has "been PARTIALLY discovered. Partially correctly and partially incorrectly." That's not much of a hint but some believe that it might have some obvious connection to Howard the Duck.

There were speculations that The Collector actually had Man-Thing stashed away in Knowhere and Howard's old pal was seen in the after-credits scene among the wreckage. Unfortunately, Gunn has yet to confirm if this was the final Easter Egg.

For now, it looks like we'll need to continue hunting. In the meantime, Gunn is already preparing for The Suicide Squad, his upcoming DC film that is set to begin production in late September.
