Isaac Hempstead Wright Slams Game Of Thrones Season 8 Remake Petition, Defends Daenerys' Actions

The petition to have Game of Thrones Season 8 rewritten and remade has already reached one million signatures but that doesn't mean a lot of people agree with it. For instance, Isaac Hempstead Wright is calling the effort "ridiculous" and has defended the final season's plot twist where Daenerys Targaryen has become the villain.

Wright recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the eighth season of Game of Thrones where he admitted that he has learned about the petition. The man who plays Bran Stark certainly has some strong words to say about the petition.

"It's just absurd. I can't even fathom it. It's just ridiculous," Wright said with a laugh. "It's ridiculous that people think they can just demand a different ending because they don't like it. I have stupidly taken it quite personally, which obviously I shouldn't."

The Game of Thrones actor continued by stating that he thinks "it's a great ending" before launching into a lengthy explanation of Daenerys' sudden actions.

"I think it's that this is a character everyone loves. Dany is a brilliant character who has done so many fabulous things and saved so many people. People have complained there wasn't enough foreshadowing of that. But time upon time, she's demonstrated a capacity to be quite brutal," Wright said. "She's waited years and years to get over to Westeros and take what is hers. She's been delayed. She's had to fight an army of literal dead people. She nearly died. She's lost Jorah, Missandei and now the person she's deeply in love with isn't comfortable with her and he threatens the claim she's had for years. She's sick of it. She's pissed off and she's lost her mind. I don't think it's some plot twist to be shocking for the sake of shocking. I think it's a genuine character development."

Wright isn't the only one who is lashing out at the petition that is calling for the rewriting of the final season. It was previously reported that Jacob Anderson has called the petition "rude."

Love it or hate it, the final season of Game of Thrones will conclude on May 19.
