Here's Why a Batman Beyond Live-Action Film Starring Michael Keaton is a Sure Win for DC

In case you missed it, it has been confirmed that Michael Keaton is currently in negotiations to reprise his role as Bruce Wayne in the upcoming The Flash movie. However, it looks like there's a completely different (and yet unconfirmed) film that fans are already hoping for. So why should Keaton play an older Bruce in a possible Batman Beyond live-action flick? Interestingly, people believe it would be a sure win for Warner Bros. and the DC Extended Universe.

It has been previously reported that a Batman Beyond movie is currently in development and that the studio might actually announce it next month during DC's FanDome. Not surprisingly, people are already talking about this unannounced project and are weighing in on how it will affect the DCEU. According to the hosts of the Comicbook Nation podcast, it could lead to a "larger DCEU" and even offered ideas on how it will happen.

"Ezra Miller's Flash has to go back to his timeline but you still have Keaton's Batman who's gotta prepare for a crisis, so what does he do? He has to outsource Batmanning to a young man named Terry, that'd be awesome. People want this," they said.

The hosts went even further to state that this particular project is the best way for DC to score a major win.

"There are two things [DC] could beat Marvel to right now... the kind of multiverse Crisis - that whole thing that Marvel eventually does have to fix, but it's gonna take like 12 years," they said. "DC can get it done now, the future characters, right? Marvel's not really getting into these future characters yet. You don't have like a Spider-Man 2099 movie or something like that. So you can do Batman Beyond and start to get that ball rolling and get the future stuff going."

We're loving the idea that a Batman Beyond film could happen but it's important to point out that the project has not yet been confirmed by Warner Bros. Nevertheless, we're keeping our fingers crossed and hoping the studio will make it official next month.
