Here's A Closer Look At Captain America's Broken Shield In Avengers: Endgame

One of the most heart-stopping scenes in Avengers: Endgame was undoubtedly the destruction of Captain America's shield as he fought Thanos. Although it was somehow restored by the end of the film, the image of a smashed-up vibranium shield was one of the most unforgettable moments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now you can get a closer look at the destroyed shield.

Russell Bobbit is Marvel Entertainment's resident Prop Master who has created many memorable items in the MCU. Bobbit recently shared a video on Twitter that shows the shield that was destroyed when Captain America took on the Mad Titan. Check it out below.

The shield is certainly a symbol of Captain America himself. It was first revealed to have been a gift to Steve Rogers by Howard Stark and its rare metal made it virtually indestructible. However, the shield was damaged in Captain America: Civil War when Steve fought with Black Panther and it was ultimately reclaimed by Tony Stark.

The tension between Steve and Tony led to Steve having to face Thanos without his shield in Avengers: Infinity War. Luckily, Tony finally returned the shield to Steve in Endgame and it may have been one of the reasons why the heroes ultimately succeeded.

Although the destruction of Captain America's shield was truly heartbreaking, it's a moment that you can relive this weekend. Avengers: Endgame has just been brought back to the theaters with six minutes of new footage.
