Harley Quinn Showrunner Says Season 2 Will Finally Feature Poison Ivy Romance

It looks like fans have another great reason to look forward to Harley Quinn Season 2. Showrunner Justin Halpern has just confirmed that the next season of the animated series will finally feature Harley's romance with Poison Ivy.

Halpern recently spoke to Geek WorldWide where he teased on how the second season will find Harleen Quinzel and Pamela Isley "in a place where they could really and truly experience a loving relationship and make it work." However, the showrunner didn't share too many details about romance, choosing to state that it will be satisfying for fans.

"I don't want to spoil it, so I'll just say I think we get to the place where people want us to get to, but we do it carefully. We're not trying to bait anyone or tease anyone. We pay off things off in a satisfying way but we want to make sure we earn it," Halpern said.

But why wait until the second season to explore the relationship between Harley and Poison Ivy? Halpern was quick to point out that they needed time to develop Harley's story first.

"We have caught a lot of heat for not having them together right away, and I get it. but our thinking was we didn't want Harley to jump right back into another relationship when she was on a journey for self-discovery," he said.

It may have been a long wait but at least we know what to look forward to next. Needless to say, we can't wait for Harley to finally have a loving relationship with someone who truly cares for her as well.

The first season of Harley Quinn is currently streaming on DC Universe.
