HBO's His Dark Materials Premiere Date Finally Revealed

The long wait for HBO's adaptation of Philip Pullman's works is almost over. The premiere date of His Dark Materials has finally been announced.

The announcement was made by the official HBO Instagram account along with a brief new teaser. Check it out below.

His Dark Materials stars Logan actress Dafne Keen, James McAvoy of It: Chapter Two, Mrs. Wilson's Ruth Wilson, and Mary Poppins Returns actor Lin-Manuel Miranda. Keen will play the young Lyra Belacqua who is under the care of McAvoy's Lord Asriel and is being chased by the mysterious Marisa Coulter (Wilson). Miranda portrays Lee Scoresby, who helps Lyra on her quest.

The synopsis for His Dark Materials reads as follows:

"Adapting Philip Pullman's award-winning trilogy of the same name, which is considered a modern masterpiece of imaginative fiction, the first season follows Lyra, a seemingly ordinary but brave young woman from another world. Her search for a kidnapped friend uncovers a sinister plot involving stolen children, and becomes a quest to understand a mysterious phenomenon called Dust. As she journeys through the worlds, including our own, Lyra meets Will, a determined and courageous boy. Together, they encounter extraordinary beings and dangerous secrets, with the fate of both the living — and the dead — in their hands."

The series also stars Clarke Peters, Ruta Gedmintas, James Cosmo, and Andrew Scott. Amir Wilson has previously been cast as Will Parry, Lyra's friend who will eventually play a central role in the show.

His Dark Materials will premiere on HBO on November 4.
