Guillermo Del Toro's Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark Gets Two Terrifying TV Spots

People who have been hoping for a glimpse at the live-action adaptation of Alvin Schwartz' Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark are in for a treat. Guillermo del Toro and André Øvredal's horror flick just got two terrifying TV spots that debuted at Super Bowl 2019.

The first teaser is aptly titled Big Toe and features an undead woman lurking about in a hallway looking for her big toe. A teenager is shown hiding under his bed but that doesn't last very long. The TV spot is undoubtedly a nod to the story The Big Toe where a young boy discovers the mysterious digit.

The second teaser titled The Jangly Man is all about teenagers fearing a supernatural creature. A boy tells his companion, "We're next." Next for what? Another young man is about to find out as the Jangly Man crashes through a door.

The synopsis for Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark reads as follows:

"A group of young people attempt to solve a mystery that involves a series of spectacularly horrific deaths in their small hometown."

Del Toro had previously shared the first horrifying poster for Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark which features a murderous scarecrow named Harold. However, it looks like Harold, the undead owner of the big toe, and the Jangly Man are not the only terrifying monsters who will be making their debut on the big screen later this summer.

Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark will hit theaters on August 9.
