Gotham Star Robin Taylor Lord Teases Penguin's New Look In Final Season

The fifth season of Gotham is finally here and it looks like the Fox series is going out with a huge bang. Interestingly, Robin Lord Taylor has confirmed Penguin will look more like his comic book counterpart in the final season.

Taylor was recently a guest on The Wendy Williams Show where he spoke about his character's development in the series. The John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum star revealed that there will be a major time leap and that Penguin's final form will be familiar to all DC comic book fans.

"We jump forward at the end of the season so we'll actually get a glimpse of the Penguin that we all grew up [on]," Taylor said. When one of the hosts asked if he would be wearing a fat suit on the show, he didn't hesitate. "Yes, yes, I do," Taylor admitted.

The time jump would certainly bring Bruce Wayne's story forward to the time when he finally becomes the Dark Knight. Needless to say, this would mean that the villains in the series could begin to look more like their comic book counterparts. Although it would be strange to see Taylor's Oswald Cobblepot waddle around in a fat suit, it's still something to look forward to on the show.

Taylor's Penguin on Gotham is already a great characterization of the villain. However, there have been reports that Oswald will also be returning to the big screen. It was previously reported that Penguin will be one of the main villains in the highly anticipated The Batman movie by Matt Reeves.

Gotham Season 5 airs on Fox every Thursday night. The Batman is expected to premiere in 2020.
